Sports Negotiator

Hot on the heels of its groundbreaking negotiations on behalf of the Minnesota State High School League, Stu Swartz Sports Media Consulting has been retained by The Massachusetts Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA), and the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA). All three organizations govern and promote amateur athletics at the high school or collegiate level.

The Massachusetts Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has already secured a new, three-year agreement with CN8/Comcast Cable Television to broadcast its annual hockey tournament, and a three-year agreement with Kraft Productions (a subsidiary of the New England Patriots) to broadcast the finals of the its annual football tournament. Based on special consultation with Stu Swartz, the football contract not only includes free use of the Patriotsı Gillette Stadium, but also represents the first time in ten years the MIAA has received payment for the broadcast rights to its tournaments.

"Based on the work he did with the Minnesota State High School League, we thought Stu would be a real asset in helping us make things happen," said MIAA Executive Director, Richard Neal. "This new deal is tangible proof that we were right."

Although the relationship with the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association is still young, Swartz has already helped the NHIAA negotiate a three-year contract with CN8/Comcast Cable Television governing the broadcast of the Associationıs annual football championship series.

Initial efforts by the agency on behalf of the Kansas State High School Activities Association focus largely on a media awareness campaign, but may also include special consultation regarding market strategy, event sponsorship, strategic partnerships and media sales.
